22" Style 375
I hate to bring up the topic of Replica Wheels, but I wanted to get some advice from the Forum since I trust you guys.
This deal looks pretty good and I'm wondering if it's too good to be true. Anyone have experience with this seller or brand?

WOW!
That is a deal, but I, like you am wondering if it is indeed too good to be true. I just left the dealer and got a set of 20" 469M's (one of my favs) with tires and sensors, mounted and balanced for around $6.5K. Priced a set of Beyerns from one of my local rim shops in 20" also and with everything (wheels, tires, sensors) it was $3.6K. So, with all that said, the price for what is pictured is really good, but it just seems too good! |

First and foremost, those are Style 375s. This has been discussed to death, but I personally wouldn't put replica wheels on an $80K SUV. If you can afford the SUV, you should be able to afford proper aftermarket wheels, or OEM wheels. Don't forget there are plenty of folks selling these second hand. There are some real bargains to be done. I've seen sets of new OEM 21" wheel be sold for $2,500, with tires.

I'm all for quality and doing things properly but I have no problem putting those replicas on my "$80k SUV". If you think spending almost 10% of your vehicle's value on wheels is wise than that's fine but I think most people would disagree.
You do realize that 99% of the population would actually argue and say that even $2k for wheels is crazy considering you already have "nice wheels" that "do the job". To each their own, but we're talking about an X5 here, not a Pagani Huayra. Again, everything is relative. I spent nearly about $4-5k on a set of used, proper Forged wheels for my R8 when I owned it, but that's a whole different game. Both the car itself in value and the fact that I wasn't about to put some heavy cast wheels on my performance car that already came with a set of relatively low weight wheels from the factory. I'm sorry if I am coming off harsh but that's just how I feel. And for the record, I am not defending it because I did on my X5. I actually never ended up putting 22s on my X5, but when my intention was to do so, it was 100% going to be some replicas from eBay. Its an SUV for road use, its not a sports car that's going to be tracked every other weekend and be put through a ton of stress. just my 0.02 cents, but I say go for it. PS, swap the tires before you buy those, upgrade to Pirellis. The tires most of the vendors include in those cheap packages are cheap Chinese tires and that's something I wouldn't want to mess with.

+1000!!!
That trade+cash deal for his 469Ms was the best chance yet, but he bogued. (Any chance I get to poke at Kzang I will! At least I'm no longer riding on the lowly 467Ms!)

Surely someone who can buy an $80K SUV can spare more than $.0002..

you're probably going to get some crickets in here asking that question. These ebay sellers and brands come and go...I suspect they're all made from a few of the same factories in Taiwan or China. IMO, stick with OEM used ones, or go with some name branded aftermarkets.

I'll stand up for (some) reps just like SlammedR8. I've had name brands like OZ, old school Ronal (OEM BMW now) etc. along with reps. Never had an issue even remotely close to the death-trap scenarios you guys keep scaring people with. Weight and how prone they are to bends is the worst I've had to deal with.
This is an age-old debate and it comes down to personal motivation between $$ and sense of quality. Same discussion on mbworld when I bent my OZs and bought reps from powerwheelpros (great standing/feedback on the forums). When I had my 1.8T Passat, I ran Mille Miglia wheels from Tire Rack and tracked that car for two years without issue and they were inexpensive. I generally don't like to stick with OEM designs, but really like the look of the 611Ms so bought some reps recently. They appear to be from the Netherlands? The pamphlet included with each wheel included ISO testing data. Clearly they could be lying and just printing stuff up, but I'm not concerned. Our X5 will only see urban jungle duty with limited 90mph runs.

Good deal... But 10" on the front on 265's and 11" on the rear with 295's. I personally like wider tires. GL looking forward to see the pictures.
