Great to hear. I agree that Carbon Fiber Ceramic pads are fine for street use.

From Powerstop on Monday re: X5M front pad availability.

"I will get with you tomorrow morning on the ETA on the Z23 series brake pads. We just started stocking the Z16 series brake pad so we should be seeing the Z23 series."

Still waiting on the ETA.
Can you ask PowerStop if they will be making a "EuroStop" kit for the X5M? Both the F85 & E70?

I found these for my wife's F25 that I'm going to try, and it would be great if they offered them for the X5M...

Hey Guys,

I just purchased the Powerstop z16 Ceramic Brake Pads 16-1738 (fronts) for my f85 x5m. I cant take the brake squealing anymore and my local BMW service has been absolutely useless for this matter.

I was wondering if anyone has tried this yet? I see someone else was using the M5 version of Powerstop fronts with success.

Here is the link for them, they are being installed in 1 week. I hope to hear if someone has used them yet.

https://www.powerstop.com/product/po...ss=X5M&p=Front

Thanks

D

People who driving fast, don't use Hawk pads. Those killed my rotors in 6 month.

Powerstop z26 for the rear works amazing - no dust, no squeal, good performance

I installed the same setup as you have based on your recommendation and after a week they have a little less initial bite but I love them. Overall braking capability doesn’t seem diminished. Almost zero dust and no brake squeal. A great alternative to the stock pads if you don’t mind a little less initial bite but value no squeal and no dust.

Looking forward to a slightly more long term review! I get at least a week of silence after spraying off my rotors with water.

I recently switched to the Hawk HB835Z front pads, and the only change I've noticed from OEM is the lack of dust (which was ridiculous). I never had a squealing problem. Very happy with these.
