Warranty Costs Are Insane
Was closing in on a deal for a 2018 X6M then found out the car is excluded from most warranty companies and those who do cover it want $7,000-$38,000 just for the warranty, depending on the coverages. It’s likely going to make it too risky to purchase ‘cause I’m sure not paying that much for a warranty.

I bought uswarranty about a year ago for my 2017 X5M when it was still under factory warranty from a FB X5 forum member, who also owned a car dealership at Deerfield beach in FL. He swore that's the only plan they have been selling for several years. I paid $3200 for a 4 yr/40k full exclusionary coverage, with $100 deductible per visit. The contract is as good as the best after market plans around, that I've owned in the past for other cars - Route66 easy street, CNA, etc. Already made a claim for Vanos solenoids for $1400, and my dealer described the claims process as "smooth".
PM me if you're interested in the contact info of the selling dealer. |

The uswarranty plan got very expensive if the vehicle was out of factory warranty. I'm happy with the plan - I don't have experience with AllState to provide a comparison, unfortunately.

I bought a used X6M last night but was able to find a bmw dealer who would sell a 1 year, 12k mile power train warranty for $2,750 that I can buy this week. I’m leaning towards getting it rather than gambling.

I always watch these threads with interest. My warranty expired last October. I likely will not pursue an aftermarket warranty given I will probably only have the car for another 18 - 24 months (depending on the car market!). The failed engine thread made me cringe, but engine failure is not common. I also think the nature of a car forum is to have a small percentage of owners that share their experiences. Surely there are a lot of X5 and 6Ms out there that have been relatively trouble free. I figure if I was going to spend $5-7k+ on a warranty, I could just bank that for repairs.
Anyway...don't want to start a debate as I think having a warranty is incredibly smart. I just don't think I'm going to pursue one in this instance. I'll be a good no warranty guinea pig and hopefully I won't have to start a major repair thread full of "I told you so's". |

$8K for BMW Platinum to 100K miles. It's the only reason I haven't sold the car yet. Enjoying every carefree mile I can.

I would like to extend my Allstate CPO Wrap if you or anyone else can advise me on how to do that. Contacted my dealer but nobody replied. I will get in touch with Allstate directly unless I hear back from you guys first. Thanks |

Full inspection with pictures etc. From what I understand, based on the nature of the failure they covered it. Not sure about the details outside of that. All I heard is repairs approved and parts ordered! |

Yes, the 48k mileage is from purchase of warranty.

Although it was a regular X5 35i and not an X5M, I rolled the dice on my F15 and decided to take it to 100K miles without a warranty. Although I did have some out-of-pocket costs associated with things that broke, I still came out ahead vs. buying an extended BMW warranty (that wouldn't have covered the items that broke anyways).

1/2023 of this year I paid $5200 for a 4 year 58K-ish mile warranty from Freedom Warranty Company. I bought my 2015 with 67k miles and I have coverage up to 125k miles. I've used it a few times now and zero issues. Full factory coverage as well - Air suspension, electronics, audio system, obvious engine related things as well.

Never buy warranty from Gold standard out of Utah. I paid 5600 unlimited years and mileage and up to 20k in repairs allowed and their fine print allows them to use salvage parts as first option. Looking to cancel and get refund asap.
