erasing oil change light

Can someone pleaseeeeeeeeee help with resetting the oil change light after oil change has been completed and please do not refer me to a regular f15/f16 engine oil change video because when I hold for 10 seconds the reset button on the left side of cluster it takes me on to a secret menu. This is the 3rd oil change and I’ve learned to live with the message that pops up on the idrive when you start the car that says engine oil service but today IM FEDDDDD UPPPPPP

Just did my oil change last week for the forth time and this has worked everytime. I too have gotten into the secret menu...I think the trick is to wait for the cluster to fully "load" on accessory mode (no ignition).

The secret mode and the CBS reset start out the same way. You are either holding too long or need to HOLD longer (I forget which one shows up first).

When you press & hold the button…the 1st CBS service may not be the OIL…it might be one of the other services…so as soon as you see any of the CBS services…RELEASE the cluster button. This will stop the procedure at the CBS resets…and also stop the cluster from moving onto the hidden menu tests. Do a quick press of the button again, and the next CBS service should appear. When you come to the oil service reset…this is when you do a longer press & hold of the button which should allow you to reset the oil service when you see the cluster read “RESET POSSIBLE”.

There is no difference between the f15/f85 or any of the F chassis 5/6/7 series…they all will do the same thing…open the hidden menu & open the CBS…you are close if you’re getting the hidden menu. If you are only seeing the hidden menu then it is operator error…you're just doing something wrong (again probably holding too long and skipping past the CBS reset).

If you do either test correctly (press & hold the button) when you’re done, the trip odometer will return to the mileage that it was showing prior to the procedure. If you do it wrong…it will reset to 000. If you see zero mileage…then you did something wrong…it’s operator error.
