Quick question…any value in updating the other non-DME ECUs? I don’t think my car (2nd owner) istep was ever updated.

I’m 26% into flashing nbt, fwiw.

EDIT: Success!

Can anyone advise if this fault in HU module will cause any issues if I flash HU to update NBTevo?

It’s the only fault that returns if I delete fault memory.

SaNGRia Great guide!

Used Esys 3.40.2 & PSdZData 4.41.10 with ENET cable.

Now on NBTevo_Y

shawnsheridan Big thanks for the download.

Can I do this if the nbt is retrofitted in ESeries and only thing I have is ENET working with hand built VA/FO file. I can code NBT, but no other modules are visible in eSYS. ISTA doesn't seem to work. But maybe I need something to set it up?

If you are talking NBT2 EVO (not NBT as you wrote) Coding NBT is done via CAN Bus, so possible with ENET Cable, but Flash requires Ethernet, so flash can only work if Ethernet was repinned from Quadlock to OABR, and that assumes a late model E-Series as early E-Series did not have Ethernet on Quadlock.

Yes sorry NBTEVO (NBT2) repinned to OABR with ENET cable working through OBD port. I just don't know how to build a TAL when all I have is custom FA/VO file and can't read modules from the car. Read ECU returns one ECU in the Coding section and that's the NBT2.

Calculate SVT Target and Flash TAL. Ignore all ECU except HU_NBT2 when executing Flash TAL.

Thanks Shawn, I got this far but it says I have missing files. I don't know the shipment istep from this 2019, so I picked 2018 as a random shipment istep. Could that be the issue?

Understand that for a non factory fitted ECU, its I-Step Shipment is most likely not the same as the car's I-Step Shipment. The correct I-Step Shipment is one where the ECU being flashed has HWEL in svt_soll that is Black, not Red / Blue.

So after you calculate SVT Target (SVT_soll), check the box that says "HW-IDs from SVTactual" and then Save it. If HWEL is Black only, no Red / Blue HWEL, then you can proceed to flash it.

As for Missing SWEs, you need PSdZData Full, not Lite.

Shawn you are a life saver! Thanks.
Should I turn off HTTP transfers? If so, how long will a NBT2 flash take? Do I need a crazy strong battery tender? I only have 1.5A trickle charger and I'm on a lithium battery so it will last a while this way, but maybe not overnight.

No. Flash NBT2 will take about 45 minutes. Car must be on a 50+ Amp Continuous Charger or jumped to another car with its motor running.

I did it all again and instead of red and blue, it's all blue now. What does that mean? Also, this time around check software version doesn't complain about missing files even though I haven't added the full pzdData.

Blue is actual state. You need to calculate svt_soll to see Target state and any firmware file updates.

Well I'm randomly picking the shipment as 2018 before the 2019 car was probably built. NBT-EVO- O is what I have.

Then I click calculate and I get red and blue, then I click HW-IDs from SVTactual but nothing changes in the colours.

If EVO is retrofitted, understand that for a non factory fitted ECU, its I-Step Shipment is most likely not the same as the car's I-Step Shipment. The correct I-Step Shipment is one where the ECU being flashed has HWEL in svt_soll that is Black, not Red / Blue.

Thanks Shawn! In the image above I did all that as per your instructions, and HWEL looks to be black. Are we seeing the same thing?
