HI Guys,
Did the update and it came up with a few errors, its says I have NBTEVO Y on the idrive, but the screen didn't update with ID6 icons/settings/etc...also, the airbag light is flashing and the SOS emergency call error is also on the dash. link below is the screenshot of error log. THanks!

ID6 requires FDL Coding.

Airbag requires you Lock ACSM.

Duh, totally forgot to update the skin to ID6....

on the airbag what is "lock ACSM"?

Lock ACSM (Required After Flashing to reset the Airbag)

Try E-Sys Transmitter:
Click "External Applications" in the left menu.
Click "External Application"
Double-click "Transmitter"
Double-click "ACSM verriegelung_schreiben"

Or Tool32:

Tool32 => ACSM4.prg => steuern_verriegelung_schreiben = control_lock_write

1) Launch C:\EDIABAS\Bin\TOOL32.EXE
2) Hit F3
3) Load C:\EDIABAS\Ecu\ACSM4.prg
4) In the "Select Job: F01" window, select steuern_verriegelung_schreiben (steuern_verriegelung_schreiben = control locking write)

Or Tool32, load the ACSM5.prg, STEUERN(ARG;VERRIEGELUNG_SG;0).

Sorry for all the newb questions, when I go to FDL code the HU_NBT2 for ID6, there is no CAFD to read...am I doing this wrong with the update?

Using the Esys didn't work for the airbag...there is also and option to click "ACSM verriegelung_schreiben_new" should i try that? if not ill go get tool32 and give that a try

You need to Inject CAFD using Detect CAF for SWE and VO Code NBT2.

i can remotely flash and code if you like. Other than that all the information clearly listed in this topic.

As far as NBT EVO Retrofit goes, you can not do this process in the car otherwise you will lock the HU. You have to VIN Flash the HU on the bench before you install on a car.

CIC is a different situation. Can be flashed and/or coded after installed.

Thanks for the very informative and great article

I had the NBTevo_J version and id5 skin with working carplay(not full screen). And after reading your post I decided to flash my NBT to the latests vesrion to be able to activate full screeen option for apple carplay.
So, the flashing process went well and I have the latest nbt version with id6 skin. And I also coded all necessary stuff

APPLE_ENHANCEMENTS => aktiv
HMI / HMI_39_39_128 => aktiv

But there is some issue. Apple carplay doesn't work for now. I don't even have a carplay option in the connection settings when i try to pair it with my phone.

Is it fsc code issue or I'm missing something?

FSC wont be effected by Flashing via Esys like this. Default code the unit. Delete all connections, Press and hold 70 sec exact on power button then re pair them. Lmk.

On the Esys, you click the NBT2 and click CODE. It will default code it.

So, I successfully default coded the unit. Then I enabled all necessary flags

HMI_ID_VERSION => id6_light (had id5_plus_plus)
APPLE_ENHANCEMENTS => aktiv
HMI / HMI_39_39_128 => aktiv

Also I enabled some of these flags

Then I cleaned all connections, rebooted the system and tried to repair my phone and the car.
But the Carplay still doesn't work

Looks like the Carplay is connected but when I click on the connected device I don't have the Apple Carplay option and also music and other functions don't work. The Apple Carplay menu also wasn't shown

I would be grateful if you have some suggestions
