Just purchased a 2018 X5 M

Yep, after several years of being away from the BMW family...we are back. My wife was tired of her "boring" Lexus GX460 and wanted something "fast, fun and unique". She wasn't much of an X5 fan, but when she saw the interior there was no turning back. Then, of course, she took it for a test drive and fell in love. Ours is a 2018 CPO X5 M. It sits very nicely next to my Audi S8 in our garage, lol.

I've done a little coding to the BMW (folding mirrors, start-up gong removed, etc.). What else should I be looking for regarding small/incremental improvements? Are there any service issues I should be made aware of? Ours has ~38k miles and is covered under BMW warranty for the next fourteen months or so.

Doubtful, but maybe. My Audi DOES have the APR Stage 1 tune (~680hp and 700ft torque). Dyno'd @ 586 HP / 674 Ft-lb on 93 (R+M)/2 on 2/19/2022

0-60 in 2.8 seconds (measured) and estimated 11.00 quarter mile.

The BMW is plenty fast for now. Remember, my wife has been driving a GX460 for five years (0-60 in over 8 seconds)

Nice - really like the interior and colour combo. I'm jealous, I have Donnington Grey but with Black interior.

LOL, the wife REFUSED to even look at vehicles with black interiors. Not sure what the big deal was, as my car is perfect and it has a black interior.

Funny story to share, while we were still looking, we came across a Jeep SRT (white with brown suede seats - great color combo). We were told, "you cannot test drive it, company policy". When I asked why not? I was told, "too much power, so it is too dangerous to allow people to test drive."

Needless to say I convinced them to allow us to do so anyway, but what a crock! BTW, the Jeep was really much nicer than we thought it would be, just the in-car electronics were a bit on the cheap side. Plus it was nothing "really special".

Prior to buying my X5, I went to test drive an SRT at one local dealership as well. They told me me the same thing. Asked if I was supposed to buy one without ever driving one. Answer was yes. Very amusing.

ps - Just saw your signature. Interior color is Aragon Brown.

Especially if I showed up in my X5M and they wouldn't let me test drive something, I'd tell them to pound sand and leave...

I have the same interior, and I fell in love. At first I thought I wanted the Mugello Red seats, but when I saw Aragon it was a done deal. Took several months to find mine since I also wanted Carbon Black (would have accepted Azurite too) and B&O, and it was worth the wait & search. Love it.

Yep, that's what sold my wife too (the interior). It is really an amazing vehicle.
