After going through so many forums and realizing my extended warranty has expired last month I went ahead with coding my BMW ambient lighting and thought I'd share it with you because I couldn't find one good article that shows how the lights look. So here it is. Added a few new colors. I was using Bimmercode and Veepeak obdii. No errors on dash after coding.

PS I have a 2014 X5 x35i.
PS PS the ambient lighting isn't as bright as they look in the photos. It's just taken with night mode on.

For a better view of how bright they are:

How did you get it to be so bright??? That's awesome! Also, if you can code it to be that bright, does it burn the lights out faster or anything?
Thank you!!

In iDrive settings, under Lighting, you can adjust the brightness. The original poster iDrive screen shows that the ambient interior lighting is at full brightness.

Thanks for the reply, but, I know how to adjust it through iDrive settings and they're set at 100% but no where near as bright as yours in your pics.

The pics are done using long exposure, that is why they look so bright...

Yes, I used the new iPhone night mode to take these photos that's why they are insanely bright. They're not as bright as they look and I'm not sure if they burn out faster or if the brightness decreases over time because it's just a strip of light at the end.

A better view of how bright they are:

Yes, I think they increase the exposure when you take a photo in night mode on an iPhone. Should've mentioned it. It made people very confused.

Correct I need the update. Shoulda asked them to do it when it was in for an oil change and I wish they would provide updates for free. Doesn't make sense that they don't.
