2014 BMW X5 (F15) Interior Seen in More Detail (Fully Bared)
BIMMERPOST NEWS 2014 BMW X5 (F15) Interior Seen in More Detail UPDATED with even more revealing photos of the 2014 X5 interior. We've gotten another look at the interior of the 2014 X5 (F15) and it provides the best idea yet of what it will look like once revealed. Interior / Wheels The F15 X5's general dashboard design takes after the F30 3 Series with a multi-layered look. Compared to the current X5 (E70), the next X5's dashboard has also become more driver-centric, a design element seen in recent new BMW models. It will also be more upright compared to the current X5's dashboard, which angles and curves away sharply from the driver and passenger. See a comparison image below. Following on the design of the newest BMW models, the next X5 will feature a large free-standing navigation/infotainment LCD screen. This screen looks to be the 8.8 inch panel used in the latest BMWs. The iDrive Touch system is seen on the X5 prototype and is expected to debut in both the 2014 X5 and 2014 5 Series (LCI model), and may not be limited to just these two models upon introduction. The wheels seen here are 20" Style 451, as seen in the revealed 2014 X5 Dealer Order Guide (containing lines, options, packages). Also see more info on the X5 lineup and special packages. Models / Production The US will receive the following models in the first model year: sDrive35i, xDrive35i, xDrive35d, xDrive50i. All of these models will begin production in August 2013, except the xDrive35d which begins production in December 2013. The European models are listed here. The F15 X5 is expected to weigh less than the current E70 X5 and ride on a modified version of the F10 5 series chassis. Look for official details on the 2014 X5 details to be released soon. I think corona fridge explains some of the decisions BMW has made lately.
"Yup, the electric power steering feels tits perfect!" "Let's make the 2 door 3 series a 4 series and a then just to keep 'em guessing a 4 door 6 series? Boom, done! Mind officially blown" "Another GT model? Sure, lets base it off the 3 series, make it about the same size a 5 series but, with a much less attractive side profile." |

Had no idea they were going to offer an sdrive version. Ad if that render is any indicator of what it will look like, I'll be in line...sucks that they didn't update the n55 in any way...

Third row
Would love to see a larger third row on selected models and or D model? Three kids, but when they are in a school, like to mess with HP

That sneak shot looks very nice. It looks way more streamlined and "to the point". Despite what others say about the E70 interior vs. the Q5 and ML, during that time I thought it look ed very simple and straightforward. The F15 looks much more cleaner and less bulky (see vents/dash - uses minimal room) and the looks like there's an improvement on materials.
As for the iDrive screen, again I know a lot of people don't like it but in terms of design, it makes a significant difference to the feel of the cabin - when you sit in the F30, it just feels there's more space; there's this feel of "openness" that the double hump in the E9X just doesn't provide. |

well, not that bad looking afterall (i.e. I hated all the renders previous spushots). Looks like they decided not to deviate much from current design. Just hope it looks nothing like X3.
Interior - not sure about it but it is different so its a good thing. |

Oh I agree, it was nice at that time, but I think the intro of the "iPad dash" is a much better design in terms of enhancing the cabin - the pictures just don't show it, you really need to sit a BMW with one to appreciate the design.

I just don't get it. The screen looks like an add-on... something that was not in the original design, then someone decided to add it late in the design process. Does it slide down when off and slide up when on? If so, this just adds complexity and weight, and one more thing to break. If not, then what's the point?
