Uneven but even tire wear
I put 26k mi on a set of tires bought new. The wear rate overall is within expectation based on tire models and driving habit. The rear right is at the wear mark and the rear left still has about 2-3mm left till hitting the tread wear mark. When looking at each tire, they're wearing evenly.
Any potential causes besides alignment, which I will check soon. Many thanks |

What is the tire wear rating from tire? Rt rear is high wear tire as all the right turns from stop will unload that tire while moving from stop and it wears that tire worst. 23K miles is in range for lots of high performance high speed rated tires. Exotics often need new tires at every oil service when they are fitted with W or Y rating tires to match their top speed capability. H and V often don't make it 30K and are a lot less if moderate and aggressive driving is in the mix.

This is a result of the open diff putting power through the right rear wheel majority of the time.

These are Pirelli 20" R rated on an F15 XDrive. Staggered, so I didn't rotate them.
I'm not a spirited driver either. The wear rate overall definitely is within reason. Sounds like it's by design per suitedcboy and Vivek instead of something I could've mitigated. By the same reasoning, should I expect the front right tire to be worn more? (Which is what I observed) |

They are directional. I find it hard to get tires that fit but not directional these days. Would be nice to be able to find some to maximize their useful life. Any pointers on brand / model?

Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 4 are asymmetric meaning they go on the rim one way but not directional so you can rotate side to side. You'll see them stamped OUTSIDE instead of with an arrow.

Probably. Open diffs will send power through the path of least resistance, which ends up being the right wheel(s) due to the weight of the driver.
