Looks good. Any photo of the rear? Do you think the rear wheels stick out too much? May be once you lower your X5 it will look more flush.

if you look at the first one, you can just see the lip of the tire. its prefectly flush with the outside of the fender liner. if i were to drop it straight down, it would look something like my late Audi s6 included.

if i could in essence drop the fender to the wheel with no space. the tire tread would be flush and the tire "shoulder" (not tread but the face) would protrude and create a seemless flow with the fender.....4 corner air bags later on in the x5s life will do this

people dont like to pay attention to red lights in south Florida

but now im in the great truck we all call ours

to everyone who has lowered their new f15 X5s..... i am interested in now looking at the lowering kit. since i did use spacers, and have a much wider stance, i am worried about clearance.

i protrude past the fenders, and if i lower, im worried with the hard core driving i do, i may crush those fenders.

what kind of clearance do you guys have with the lowering kit between tire and fender, and if i did have wheels that go way past the fender, do you ever see that as an issue?

like in a hardcore evasive maneuver, or track time and major body roll. will the wheels ever meet fender?

@X5Jouster, in your case, I wouldn't lower the car unless you have Active Suspension at the very least. Because, this F15 shock is designed to be very soft in normal setting.
With Active Suspension, if you are going on Sport / Sport+ mode, it will be stiffen up and that way you won't rub on the fender flare.

Like @r33 said, I wouldn't lower it unless you have the right suspension. From the pics, it looks like your front wheels are sticking further out - not sure about Floria rules, but you can get a ticket for that in most other states, right?

Nice S6 btw! Sorry you got into an accident . X5 is def the safer/better choice.

Ah, nice . Then, I think you should be fine; However, the problem with lowering and 20" wheels is that it doesn't look great. The car looks too big for the wheels then. Your car already has the best suspension and looks great so I don't really see the point of lowering it. It's your car though, so do whatever makes you happy .

second to @opasha, not with 20", makes the car looks like having small feet.

You don't want your car looking like this, unless you're into your car being an SUV ricer:

I understand your thought process since you have a much wider stance than his. At the end of the day, like a few members said to me regarding my wrap color, it's what will satisfy you at the end of the day despite what others think .

I feel bad because it's a forum member's X5, but it's the truth. To each his own .

Instead of blacking it out to match the rest of the car, I think maybe more charcoal grey or something slightly lighter would look best..

as you can see here i have the magnet above the hazard, magnet wrapped with carbon fiber along with interior trim. this is to mount my phone when im in the vehicle... yes it does cover the hazard and safety feature buttons, as well as the hot-cold control, but i never touch any of those....and in emergency, hazard is right there anyways, just pull the phone down.

you could crazy glue a thin magnet behind your phone or order a rokform universal mount which comes with a magnet and abs plastic mount. look it up here!!

http://www.rokform.com/v3-universal-adapter/

i also threaded my charging cable from the center console, under the thigh side trim, and up under the center dash.....its the white wire

done with a $20 roll of 3m carbon wrap. did all wood trim, and the piano black trim, not done but took an hour to do the whole wood parts including rear doors.. the dash from the start button to the passenger air vent snaps out in one piece, both trim pieces connected.quite interesting. should have taken pictures!!

alittle dirty, i know, hectic weekend, detailing today!

Where can you get that carbon fiber wrap? I have a carbon fiber sit/stand desk at my office that has some nicks/cuts and would like to repair. Might want to do it to my x5 also.

Edit: Would this be the same thing? http://www.amazon.com/3M-Scotchprint.../dp/B0058DIDTY

thats actually the item i purchased on amazon!!!!!

if you keep on looking there are different brands and they all have pros and cons, some are matte some are gloss. if you look at my lower trim its actually a different film and gloss, by the shifter.

i appreciate the support!!!

theres all to many videos on how to apply vinyl wrap on anything from boats, to cars, to phones. i cant offer any insight into the wrapping as there are better techniques to use, as i didnt use any heat to actually "wrap the vinyl"....

but youtube vinyl application and there is a wealth of info.

but in regards to our specific x5 use....everyone would cringe if they saw how i did it. xacto to trim is no good, under all that nice carbon, is alot of issues that will come in a few years at sale of car.....but it looks good as is!!!!! and if done properly protects the trim from nicks and scratches!!!
