Interior trim vinyl wrap

As the post states, I'm looking to get my interior trim (currently aluminium) wrapped due to the original owner seemingly scratching and denting every inch of it!

I've called a few local suppliers of vinyl wraps and none will touch the interior.

Can anyone recommend a vinyl wrapper local (ish) to me in Nottingham (or an exchange service?)

I've tried it myself but I cannot seem to get it looking anywhere as near good enough as I'd like, even after watching numerous "how to wrap" vids on YouTube!!

It's either that or I get a paintshop to paint it...

I suspect part of the problem is the fact that the aluminium trim ins't the best for wrapping, especially if it has dents and mark on it as it will show all these marks on the wrap too.

I would have thought that cast vinyl would of hid that? I guess I could always flat it back prior to it being wrapped?

Going to give a shop a call about hydrographic coating as well (the dip method) - I would definitely have to have it flatted back for that.

In the past when I have spoken to wrapping companies they have said that they prefer to wrap the wood trims and most like you have found out don't want to do it with the aluminium trims. Hyrdrodip could be different though.

I bought a spare set of aluminium trim from eBay and wrapped it in black carbon. It is very much a case of practice makes perfect. This is the fourth E90 trim I've done in carbon. Still cheaper than paying a company to do it.

I bought the cast wrap from Graffitype who are local to me.

Its very simple to do. ive done a few of mine in the passed. its a very forgiving material, if you do it shit the first time you can heat it and start again. Or look on ebay - I have seen loads of trim pre wrapped already for sale, although it is at a premium.

Done mine myself too. Bit of wrestling but better than paying someone else. Some of the wrap material is quite thick so may help hide some of your imperfections.

I got mine from these guys as they are very local to me and just went in to see them, its their cast carbon wrap. I didn't trust the sellers on ebay, too many fakes of the 3M stuff.

Thanks for all the info, in the end I've opted for using a paintshop to go down the gloss black route...will post up some pics in a few weeks when it's done!

Have a look and see if there is a MDP store near you they're stuff if great and cheapest you will find from a reputable source. They don't have as many options to pick from as the likes of Hexis, 3m etc but they have all the usuals choices, satin grey, satin black, carbon, brushed aluminium etc. Thats where i got the carbon for my interior and its great stuff to work with, thats mostly what i use unless I'm after something fancy. Good thing is if you have one near you then you don't need to wait on delivery. I paid £16 for 1 meter by 60 inch of carbon which is more than enough to wrap the full interior, i only wrapped the gearstick surround so have plenty leftover.
