Trubo upgrade?
I was wondering if anyone had any new news about a turbo upgrade for our 335is. I had read a while back about vf-engineering and GIAC making one, but i dont think abything develped for over a year now. I figure if they do void my engine warranty i would rather put 8Gs towards an upgraded kit, rather than putting those 2 snails back in that could get cooked in another 10K miles. Any info would be great and if any tuner wants a guinea pig let me know.

Autotalent is STILL waiting on their ridiculous uprade from RD Sport, VIP Tuning is working on a single turbo upgrade/conversion, and their is another shop that i know of that is also close to completion.
Honeslty, it really doesn't even make any sense, most peole on here bitch about a $450 intake, imagine an $8K tab for a set of new snails.

IMO, it all depends on the whp gain from turbo upgrade. 8 grand for 70 whp, naaah. but 8 grand for 120+ whp, then it gets very interesting

How much would a turbo upgrade cost? I guess if you are really into the 335i and making it a project car, then more power to you. I'd definitely like to see the results.

The OP might have to buy new turbos from the dealer if they dont cover him with warranty so he is wondering if there is any upgrades out there since it would be better to spend the 8 grand on bigger turbos rather than stock ones from the dealership...

the biggeest factor is the exhaust manifold in which the turbos are cast. new tubos= new exhaust manifold.

+ new chargepipes and downpipes. IMO somebody should build new turbos in the OEM housings. Ball bearing, ceramic coated, optimized turbine- and compressor wheels. Ideal to upgrade in case of a defect turbo.
