BMW F85 X5M vs F26 X4 M40i at the dragstrip (quarter mile)

Just for fun as we already know the X5M wins, we do this for the community.
Coelho and I last friday at ATCO Dragway to test our best stock records.

355hp/343tq vs 567hp/502tq

X5M best time I believe 12.1-12.2 @ 112 if I'm not mistaken
X4 M40i best time was 13.1@103mph

Wondering with a proper flash tune the X4 M40i (M2 detuned engine) will run a high 11 or 12.1-12.2

Another run where you see the X5M launch better and i launch worse (X4 M40) lol recorded by Coelho

Other X4 M40i runs from other thread:

My other friends who joined us at the drag last week Luminous Broke his record on his M235 @ 11.75 with his EnzoFlash+JB4 stack Custom Map6 for boost control only. And SuperBran also broke his record at 12.1 on just 93 pump + catless DP + EnzoPerformance Flash.

Nice work.

Did you guys build boost before the launch?. Not using launch control, just hold the brakes with the left foot and step on the gas to 2,500RMP with the right foot then let go when the tree lights up. This would give you near full torque as soon as you let go of the brakes.

We both used LC and I believe he did do that method in another run, he has another run he recorded using LC which he ran faster (12.1). The prob is LC is activated as soon as you put it Shifter to left (M/S) and brake + accelerate to 2500. I think not moving shifter to the left might not activate. Isn't LC suppose to be better off the line?

Both times are very strong. I have not seen a big benefit in LC vs brake torque wot to 2700. You just don't get the flags....lol. Great watching you guys having fun. My stock best was around 12.3 at 110 before the RaceChip. Get those M's tuned !

Euro LC works, US doesn't work very well. Euro LC launch at a much higher RPM compared to the US version. In short, much better to build boost on your own if you have US LC.

My logs show a peak footbrake rpm of 2700 and 3psi. What is Euro ? 3000-3200 would be killer.

No doubt. Your 13.1 is strong too. My 50i only went 12.7 with BMS. You will BEAT that soon. Impressive rides !
