The downsides of wheel spacers that I forgot

Recently installed my wheel spacers, however I completely forgot about one of the downsides..

I had just spent 3 hours detailing this before a 20 minute drive down a pretty dry motorway

Ah well! I guess the pro's out way the cons

I have been wondering the affects of doing this myself. Planned on installed spacers as soon as I collect my new car, however I'm such a clean freak! Have you found all the extra dirt spraying up is scratching the paint?

One of the first accessories I bought was mudguards, for just this reason. Some don't like the look of them, but it's better than scratched paint.

+1. Installed BMW mudflaps pretty soon after purchasing the car.

My wheel setup is:
- No spacer
- APEX ARC8 18x8.5 ET37
- Square Michelin PSS 255/40/18

This was literally my first drive with them on, admittedly I had to drive down some country lanes for the best part of a minute or two but they all seemed relatively dry.

I'm probably going to throw in some ppf around the hot spots. There's some real strong armour out there now to put on your car.

PPF. Is that some kind of protection film like clear bra?

Do you know of any that are pre cut for this area? Keep us updated on this

Yeah, paint protection film.

I'll probably look at something like XPEL that has a pretty long life durability, as for it being pre cut I don't think you can really. I'm yet to figure out how to get hold of it so that I don't have to lay a few hundred notes out for a detail garage to do it.

Is that yours? Man I love that colour..

In all fairness I think with that colour it kind of contrasts quite nicely, especially with the rest of the black trim on the car.
