Lightbulb Your Opinion on Tires. Michelin, Nitto, Continential....

So getting rid of the run flats, 225/40 R18

I drive couple times a week, so not a daily car.

So I know everyone says Michelin Piolts, some say DWS06.

Was looking at Nitto Invo tires. I run Nitto Terra Grapplers on my SUV.

Anyone have experience in the Nitto's?

Or can recommend another tire?

Try the new Michelin Ps4s tires, supposed to be even better than the supersports for the same price

What kind of tire are you looking for? Michelin is best all around summer tire but silly expensive. Any of the nitto products are not in the same category of tire as the michelins.

Goodyear f1 ASY2 I ran them on my 335i for 4 years. I changed to PSS back in the summer & although the Michelins offer a bit more dry grip they aren't as good in the cold & or wet as the F1s.
When the PSS are worn out I will be going back to the F1s & give the ASY3 a go.

I ran the Nitto's and they were ok. I had 245's in front and 285's in rear. Decent grip but nothing special and they spun a lot even just being FBO. But the tread life in rear was terrible; 8K miles and they were done. Not a camber issue, even treadwear past the wear bars. The price is reasonable but nothing special otherwise.

I guess a good performance tire, good grip, good in water.

I never drive it in snow or ice if my AWD SUV is running.

Also thanks for the other opinions guys will research them tonight.

I went from the Michelin Supersports to Nitto Nt555g2's. I would say that the Michelin were maybe a better tire, but for the money, the Nitto's are excellent. For me they wear excellent, grip is good, and wet weather if fine. My car is a daily work car, FBO with inlets and meth, no intercooler. I am very happy.

Don't make them in 18" sizes yet.

You have many options to choose from in size 225/40/18. It is one of the most popular sizes out there.

Here are a few of the best high performance summer tires to choose from:

1. Michelin Pilot Super Sport (top dog for nearly 5 years, everyone's favorite)
2. Continental Extreme Contact DW (on closeout, excellent tire for the price)
3. Continental ExtremeContact Sport (brand new from Conti, suppose to be better than the Michelin PSS, although not proven yet)
4. Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 (newest from FS, tested very well and one of the highest rated by customers, excellent price)

Hope that helps to narrow down your search. Feel free to email me directly if I can help further. Keith@tirerack.com
