Need new tires...
What do I buy?
I was going to just match the current equipment but figured I might as well post up here to see everyones opinions. Would prefer to stay with run-flats, but will stray if its absolutely worth it.

Absolutely worth it is of course a matter of opinion. I have a Conti-comfort kit or whatever in the trunk and I run Non-RFT and think it's a good trade off.
I had Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3s for a year and they are amazing in wet weather FWIW. Not too noisy, great handling and amazing wet weather performance. FWIW. I just ordered Continental Contisport 3s for my new wheels and look forward to trying them. Don't skip on your tires, they are the single most important piece of the performance puzzle. Cheap out on tires, might as well just pull a couple of plug wires, it's the same net effect. Nothing else but your tires touch the road so they are absolutely critical unless you just toodle around everywhere.

Tire rack is your friend, they have lots and lots of details on who is buying what and what tires are working best. Good stuff.

It all depends what you want. Are you looking for all out dry traction or maybe a bit of dry and wet performance. Or maybe you want something that has decent dry traction but has great treadwear. Some people complain about road noise so that could be a big issue too.
Let us know what your looking for and it'll probably help narrow down the tires. |

If you are looking at staying with runflats, but want to try something different, you might look at the new to US Michelin PS2 run flats, they have been OEM on Europe cars and now starting to come here. Tirerack is a source for those of course.

Those sound very interesting, I was looking at the non runflat version and they seem like rather desirable pieces of rubber. I want good grip in dry, but because the car is by for most of he smummer decent wet performance all around, I was perfectly happy with the stock tires so im sure anything is an improvmebt.

Okay, so I am going to order the PS2 ZP. Has anyone had any experience with those tires?
