Factory side skirt removal and install

Here's how to replace your factory side skirts if you ever need to.

Was it necessary to remove the BG painted piece as well in order to put in the new side skirt? Seems like you should have just been able to pop off the gloss black portion?

It's connected on the bottom with plastic screw inserts and pressed in with tabs. So the only way to remove it is to remove the whole skirt and disassemble.

I would assume should be able to pop the tabs out with some trim removal tools while leaving the body color painted portion on the car itself? Just trying to find a good way to leave as many pieces actually on the car itself to avoid potentially breaking any plastic tabs for the painted portion.

I'll be swapping out for the M Perf CF side blades once I get my car so this was definitely helpful to get a look at what kind of work I have cut out for me.

I don't blame you for not wanting to remove more parts than you have to. I had to get new ones asap, I couldn't stand knowing I had that small blemish on my skirts. Whenever you get your skirts post them up.
