I know i'm about to get shot asking this
but here goes:
I have raced the E92 M3 and taken it from stop to 70mph, now im sure the guy was racing because he was really pissed after. Currently I have the evolve Remap and Dinan Flywheel installed from the states and fitted. My car prior to the flywheel was kicking out 363 on std BP (95) petrol after remap and 425 lbs per foot of torque. I always try and use Optimax vmax optimus prime autobot shell petrol. My question is : Are the E92 335i's AT with pad shift , remapped + Flywheel faster than a stock E92 M3 to 0-70 ? Anyone done it yet and beaten an E92 M3 ? - although truth be told i love the E92 M3 like sex.

Same engine in the 1 series as the 335i, I realise there’s more the M3 than straight line speed though.

SEE I DONT KNow why people get pissed off, the M3 driver sounds like a wanker. I always give the thumbs up whenever i loose or win. Not lost alot in the diesel cuz i aint raced cars quicker..
OOOps tell a lie, off the lights in london i was right behind Hiten in his Porky T and Nick in his one and they dropped me like a stone. And when i was stock last summer i got mullered by an E60 M5, but i instigated it and he loved it and i gave him thumbs up and him thumbed up back Also a CLS 55AMG also. Old bald fella, looked like a gantsa, he loved having a tear up. CANT stand anyone who gives it beans gets beaten and throws there dummy out the pram.

Best one was a Astra VXR in london. Stopped at the next lights and the London wannabe gangsta opened his window screaming his tits off. Was loving the fact he got mullered by a diesel and loved telling me too.

Everytime I manage to grab the keys for the 335d these days I'm totally gobsmacked at how insanely quick it can be, torque has to be the secret

In terms of straight-line speed, I don't think there is much between a E92 M3, remapped 335i or 335d. They are all great cars and pretty closely matched
Where the M3 comes into its own is somewhere like the Nurburgring where its absolutely planted |

Similar experience with my old Type 20 Scoob. VERY well sorted and Quick (note the capital Q)... had a tear up with an older White Vauxhall Vectra with a Nurburgring stickers on the sides and back.... Could tell it was sorted as it looked mint and had some expensive pipe work at the back and a few extra vents at the front..... no chav bits...
Held his own against me for several miles (or was it I my own held against him??).. anyway, big grins all round and a thumbs up after the chase. Seen him a few times since then and though we've never had the same space to do what we did, we've always waved. |

Oooooo I so miss this!! Was soooooo much fun in my old Boxster S, I always enjoyed having a bit of fun with other performance cars.
No BMW would beat my Porsche ....... Only time I get to do this now is at Classic meets and run outs. Though you never know if I come into a little bit of money the MG could be off to the OC to become a supersport project ..... then it really is playtime

A Boxter S is still no match for an M3 and it would struggle with a remapped 335 - talking poo as per usual Nicola!!!

Keeping in mind mine was a 2000 / X 986 and it would have been faster than the M3's / 330Ci's of that time. I don't suspect it would keep up with a new M3 or 335i, faster than the diesels though .....

330i 272 bhp, 320 nm @ 2,750 (bit more torque lower down eh), 0-62 6.1s, no BMW figures for 0-99. 50-75 6.1s. Top speed, limited to 155mph. Sorry Carlos - no way in hell my E92 335d SE could out handle the Cayman S on the twisties. I can get through my twisty test track road 11 mph faster than in the E92. I just 'aint got that wave of torque though lol. |
