Dinan B58 DME Unlock and Software Flash

So I was surfing Dinan's YouTube channel and I noticed that they did a unlocking software flash on the M340i.

Any idea if it's possible for our vehicle because it would be totally worth it?!

Major gains!!!

As far as I know this was only possible on the MY2020 M340i. MY2021+ DME does not have a publicly available unlock option aside from mailing your DME to femto.

Is anyone really mailing their car's ECU to Russia right now?

I thought from what I saw in the video I can mail my DME into Dinan directly. They have a whole video of how to remove it how to ship it how to receive and how to plug it back in with about 100 hp-ish increase.

If you take a look at the product page for the tune you will see this in the description. It's unfortunate this is still the case but it is a reality for the time being.

Hopefully the recent events overseas gave some companies a bit more of a push. It's been a while now.

I don’t even want a tune. I just want the all-season top speed limiter removed. Dinan pls.

If they could do it and it's relatively priced it would be amazing. However that's the only way I would go at this point and not do any more piggybacks. With that being said my next purchase will be a downpipe as I'm very happy with a Dinan Intake that I got. Just made the car so much better.

Funny I just got my downpipe installed and am likely getting the intake next

It is not possibly for Dinan to bench unlock g42 dme.If you don’t plan on doing any larger mods immediately, stick with a piggyback. Unless you really want to void your warranty for a 70hp gain with zero ability to tweak or modify the tune yourself, while grounding your car for who knows how long until that comes back.

If you do the full clone you can have the ability to tweak and retune as needed. Definitely the way to go for the extra scratch.

A piggyback can void your warranty also and it's an inferior method to tune your car vs a flash tune.

Those with experience modifying cars can play with the different maps on the JB4 and data log but I wouldn't recommend it for beginners. Way too many "I put my car in map x with the right fuel for that map but my car runs like shit" scenarios.
