Hey guys, as promised here is a fairly comprehensive guide for installation of the JB4. This was my most recent install in my 2022 G series M240i (B58). Hope this helps someone out.

Excellent job, again! I've installed before, but this would have been very helpful to have when I did my first one. Q- what happens if you do not hook up the ODB connector? I am guessing you can't control the can bus features.

Question to current JB4 users. Would driving in summer weather where its hot as hell ambient temps be a concern for running anything above stock maps? 100-110F in Las Vegas, NV as example.

No concern, the stock cooling system does a good job keeping temps in check.

Glad it's useful.

If you don't hook up the OBD you loose the can bus features on F series, that's correct, also you can't data log via the bluetooth app, and the tuning operates without certain inputs that it takes from the OBD, so technically speaking the tune is just working with the inputs from the engine sensors.

I did watch this and thought it was very well produced. I plan to try this out next weekend. Good explanation of things overall. I used to do some training classes for work and the best idea is to break things down and speak at a moderate speed to give people time to digest the info.

Great video, very well done. I REALLY want to install this after a few months of ownership but I think I am too nervous about voiding my warranty.... we will see.

if you do not connect the OBD, you got yourself an overpriced stage 1 tune.
