My invoice says 1EV or (S1EV) for 4 digit.

Are you going to have your tires replaced before and after winter or are you buying a new set of wheels as well? I found BMW has a set of winter wheels they list it as an accessory on the iX50, but nothing yet for M60 or 22" wheels. I'll probably the pair they describe below found on the iX50 configurator

https://www.bmwusa.com/build-your-ow...sj/accessories

BMW 21 Inch Style 1011 Aerodynamic Cold Weather Wheel and Tire Set in Jet Black

$3,214
Driving with confidence in the colder months doesn't mean sacrificing performance. Conquer the elements this year with a set of BMW Approved Cold Weather Wheels & Tires.

Starting at just 45F, cooler weather has an immediate impact on the rubber compounds of both Summer and All-Season tires. Why? Rubber begins to harden as the temperature drops, negatively impacting not only a tire’s road gripping ability but also the vehicles steering and responsiveness, even on BMW Models equipped with X-Drive.

BMW Approved Cold Weather Wheel & Tire Sets are designed with cold-resistant rubber/silica compounds that retain flexibility, sophisticated tread designs that help grip the snow and ice and deeper self-cleaning tread patterns that help reduce the risk of hydroplaning.

This set is sold assembled and ready for easy installation on
the following model : IX

I'm going to buy a seperate set of set of 22" rims/tires for the winter. Winter tires stay on around 6 months of the year where I live. I hate running a smaller size as I don't like the look. 275/40/22 winter tires are actually the same price as 20 or 21" when I looked.

The part number would be a bunch of digits. 1EV is the wheel/tire option for performance all season when ordering. 1EW is the performance option (e.g., Bridgestone Alenza summer tires).

I'm downsizing to aftermarket 20" rims with Nokian Hakka 10 EV Studded 235/50/20:

https://pmctire.com/en/wheels/rtx-wh...deport-25.tire

https://www.kaltire.com/en/tires/hak...v4=235&start=1

No way am I paying BMW $4500+, when I can get far superior winter tires for $3200

This car weighs almost 6000lbs. You trust a $300 aftermarket rim? Not sure I would take that risk.

They clear the load rating requirement easily, both axle weight and gross vehicle weight. I’ve put aftermarket winter rims from companies like this many times and never had issues.

Same here. I got aftermarket wheels for my 3 series, X4 and X5 all without issue and would do the same again for an iX without hesitation.

That's great for you guys. I like the 1023 Bi-colour/bronze 22" wheels and would rather spend the extra 2k so my car doesn't look cheap on cheap rims for six months of the year.

Just my preference. To each their own.

Don't worry, I peeled off the dollar store sticker from my rims before putting them on so that no-one would know.

Do you need studded tires?

There is a Hakka R5 EV coming soon too.

I've owned multiple EVs, all of their regen in the winter makes for tail-happy characteristics under deceleration. Since I only drive with one pedal, it doesn't inspire confidence. Studded tires help tremendously with this issue.

Hugo, Ty for your investigative work on this.

Do you know of anywhere that could get these reasonably quick? Appears to me that in the states only 3 are available, with none in Germany.

Looks like available here mounted on Alpin. Is this place legit?

https://www.werksraeder24.com/bmw-mi...rodynamik.html

Dont ship to US though
