Gentleman switch
Can anyone verify that p/n 61316826716 is the correct switch for my 2019 540i? I know it is for the 2019 740i, but I successfully used a 7-series switch on my 2014 535i. I'm under the impression as long as the chassis is the same (F for F & G for G) the switch will work.

I saw that, but the application chart shows 2020 and later model years, which I assume are LCI. I have a 2019 pre-LCI so wasn't sure it would work. I also get this warning when I select a 2019 740:

I ran into the same issue. I ended up finding the correct part number on eBay Germany. I ordered it a few weeks ago and it is barely shipping out to me now. I'll let you know if I get the old part or the new one and if it works correctly.

Got the switch today. It is the 61316826716. I have to return it as it probably won't fit. It is a bit shorter than the stock switch. It also has the "chrome" buttons. I still may try and fit it...

Tried to install the switch today. Either the switch is defective or it won't work in my G30. I followed a YouTube which pretty much destroyed my factory switch, so I'll have to replace that switch . Yes, I did all the coding, but weirdly, Bimmercode showed passenger seat twice and no option for the driver's seat . I even used a backup from 3 months ago and still no driver's seat option.
Oh well... off to buy the factory switch... |

Where does this switch normally reside? Today I learned. |

I just installed my switch today as well! You're right, the buttons are chrome, but not a big deal. My switch worked out of the box without any coding.
Next time, don't follow the YouTube vids. You need to pull the door panel off to properly pull it out of the door. It took me about 20 minutes m, but that's because I've pulled the door cards off before so there were no surprises. |

You can see the indentation of the original switch plate as well, but again, not a big deal for me. If you're a perfectionist then this would irk the hell out of me.

New switch is on the way. If this one doesn't work (even the basic functions didn't work on the last one), I'll just install the new basic switch and call it a day.

So there seems to be some confusion on whether this works without passenger side memory. On my passenger side the seat itself has the controls to move the seat but there is not memory switch on the passenger door. Some people say the Gent control will still control it and 1 said no. Any idea and thanks! |

So, exactly same thing happened to me. Purchased 61316826716 and it is completely dead. Won't even light up when plugged in. When you got the replacement that worked, was it the same part # 61316826716 that worked? Was it just a dud part on the original one you received? Thanks!
