G42 CBE Options

Still waiting patiently for a reputable company to release a cat-back exhaust for our cars. If anyone has any leads or info on upcoming CBE please post below.

I love the way the B58 sounds but I wish it were a tad bit louder and aggressive. I think a solid CBE will provide great results.

Even when Dinan comes out with their axle back it will sound nice! Basing this on the axle back on the M340i

I think axle-back is the way to go. Unless I'm mistaken, our cars in the North American market do not have any resonators between the downpipe and muffler. It's just straight pipe. A full CBE wouldn't really make sense because it won't provide any benefit over the axle-back, and will cost more.

Great point! Hopefully the axel back is released soon! Sounds like it will be a great cost effective option as well.

Emailed Dinan asking about the axel back for the g42 and their response:

"no ETA at this time, however, is something we will be looking into"

Thank you for keeping this updated.

Honestly at this point I'm considering having a custom axel-back fabricated. Just hard to find someone in LA who can do quality custom work at the level I would want it.

I purchased the milltek axle back. Milltek catback will NOT fit US spec cars! I confirmed this with milltek and have plenty of screen shots saying so. They do however sell a turbo back that “should” fit. UK has a different connection on the downpipe. So in till one of these companies make a flange for us,nothing will fit minus axle backs.

I’ll post pictures once it’s installed.

Where did you buy from? The Milltek support email has not been helpful.

Thanks for the info! The listing in AutoID states that this product requires the OE exhaust to be cut. Does that agree with that you were told or does it only apply to the catback?

You’re welcome! Every axle back will require you cut the oem exhaust. They give you clamps and a template/directions on where to cut. If they made a catback that fits,no cutting is involved. Awe will be releasing one eventually if you wanted to wait. Dinan is a axle back only and also needs to be cut.

I wouldn’t hold your breath for AWE. They said just the other day that’s it’s not even on the radar at this point.

This is very helpful. Also I heard back from Milltek again today via email:

"I'm verifying that I can get it for US Spec to where we can just plug the OPF holes.

The version they make at the time, is for OPF cars only. I'm seeing what the options and the production for US spec vehicles is for you."

Value I'll most likely just order from AutoID like you did. How was the shipping cost for you?

Yeah, they told me sometime in July they would start working on it. Either way,I got sick of waiting around for companies to make stuff and went with milltek. Awe usually doesn’t release exhausts with valves anyways. I won’t buy one without them. They use to make a switchpath with valves, but lately have stopped making them for most applications.

Yeah,I went back and forth for over a month with them. They have no idea what’s going on,I even offered to have a shop near me test fit the setup if they can alter it to fit to help everyone in the US out. They had no motivation and I was doing all the work,so I passed. Shipping was $275 I believe

FYI, the M performance Exhaust is available for the M240i! It's on the BMW parts page for the MY23 but I believe it should work for MY22 as well.

This appears to be an error?

This is the part # listed on the bmw performance parts page 18302464496. This is an exhaust for the G20 330i.

Also in the description, it states "for your 3 series"

Unless the G20 exhaust fits?
