Bimmerzone G87 Spare Tire Kit

Successfully fitted an OEM BMW Spare tire kit for the G87. May pop one of these in the trunk on my long drives. Shoutout to Vince @ Bimmerzone for having me out.

That would be handy to have on my current road trip (see photos section). I have thought about what I would do if I had a flat up here in the middle of no where.

For sure. I estimate it is probably 40lbs but I'll get exact specs from Vince tomorrow to share.

At $1,000 I see why manufacturers have stopped adding them to cars. What savings for them (even if their cost is a fraction of the price we pay).

Thanks so much for sharing it fits! definitely something to consider having if going away with spotty coverage.

For sure! I haven’t had to use one in a while, knock on wood. Confirmed this morning 39lbs with genuine BMW wheel and tires mounted.

That’s very light, not a concern with carrying it or moving it in and out of the trunk. Moving the original wheel into the trunk is the bitch lol both size and weight-wise.

Would you please post a photo of it sitting in the trunk?

The steel spare wheels manufacturers would use are much cheaper, ~$250 (and less for the mfr.). I had one for my F82 and used it once in 9 years. Weight and a place to store it are the other factors.

Received the Bimmerzone OE alloy wheel spare yesterday. I takes considerable trunk space but will be useful on trips.
