I put my V713 on the scale with Falken FK452 tires before mounting them:
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=261277 I would say that they are painted with a powdercoated clearcoat on top. I'm not 100% sure... But I have to warn you the paint chips very easily! As you can see from the pictures my rims got the paint chipped of during transport and I have got several chips afterwards also... It's a great looking wheel with paint finishing issues. Quote:

The VMRs are about 25-26lbs for 19's depending on the width so they will comparable to other cast wheels.
The Hypersilver is a 5 coat process that starts with a dark black base layer with metallic silver on top. The effect is a bit of a darker silver than the OEM setup but gives the wheel a nice finish. It does have a clearcoat and the inside is coated silver. VMR warranties the finish for 1 year from the date of purchase as well. So long as you wax and wash the wheels regularly, the finish will hold up for years. |

Hypersilver is a factory painted color, and yes, it does have a clear coat for some added protection. Feel free to PM me with any other questions you may have. |
