335is

Hey, does anyone have any speculation as to what modifications to the N54 are made by BMW in order to allow for the higher HP (and presumably boost pressure)?

I'm asking because it's basically a factory tune equivalent to some of the more modest tuners (e.g. JB+). I've read documents from BMW that claim increasing the boost pressure beyond 8.8 psi will damage the turbos in the long run. Surely the 335is runs either higher boost or larger turbos, in addition to different DME settings. I'd like to get more details on what exactly BMW is modifying to the N54 that enables it to safely operate at the higher HP in the 335is.

Since I have N54 335i with myself now, if I need to consider my next 3 series, I will definitely think about F-30 instead of E9x's N55.

BMW is full of crap haha. They just never wanted you to mod your car.... but then they released the Power Package.... just look at what it contains and you'll have your answer

Has anyone tried comparing the BMW Performance Power kit to other tunes like the Procede or JB3?
