New BMW software finally makes car idle below 1000rpm
Had the long crank so went to my dealer to get a new HPFP...they wanted to update my software first tho (mind you I have never had it updated before.... nov 07 build) anyways...i say fine...ill set my jb3 to map 0 and call it a day(yes i took my car in with ALL my mods...my dealer is cool )...shop foreman just said keep the tune off and he will take care of the rest....well they flashed the car and the car couldnt hold a decent throttle position...kept blipping up and down nonstop....so the shop foreman says take out the jb3 and he will try again...so i do it and turn the car back on and it kept blipping again...so they reflashed it and it took this time...he said sometimes the updates need to be installed 2 or 3 time before they catch...i dunno...anyways....i turn the car on and it starts very smoothly and slowly idles down to 600rpm...always idled at like 1200rpm for some reason...dunno why....but even better is that i reinstalled my jb3 and its SUPER smooth now...(v1.4)...when my dealer gets the new HPFP im going to complain anyways since thats what the shop foreman said so he can put the new one into my car for me and hopefully rectify this who HPFP issue for good...fingers crossed

wish my dealer was that cool. went to buy an exhaust hangar that i ripped while installing my AE the other day...parts guy (who is actually cool) said that i would definitely want to take it off before any warrant claims because the service advisors would void my warranty in a heartbeat.

everyone at my dealer knows about my car. They wont flag it...if they need to change something they usually tell me what needs to be taken out so they can provide the warranty service....they even told me to come get my car one day because they heard that a warranty rep from bmw na was on his way over to the dealership....
