AMS N54 FMIC for sale
I have an AMS Front Mount Intercooler for sale. It has been on my car for 2 yrs / 15 000 miles.
This intercooler is one of the best on the market - with cast end tanks making it a high flowing intercooler with minimal pressure loss. I have had excellent results on the dyno with this product, where it has been proven to help make great power with a remap at relatively low boost pressures. If you are interested, do some more reading here http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...&highlight=ams. I am looking for £550 delivered to mainland UK. PM for more info. My DPs have been sold - bump for this item.
This is a quality intercooler and enables you to run a tune at aprox 2psi less then with the stock intercooler due to reduced pressure loss. Anyone concerned about damaging turbos by running higher boost pressures needs this intercooler. Offers welcomed. |

It is down to the installer. In some cases it will fit without any cutting. My installer fitted it by shaving a couple of mm from in front of the intercooler. This FMIC certainly doesn't require extensive cutting or removal of some bodywork like the larger intercoolers.
The larger intercoolers are generally necessary when running upgraded turbos to keep AITs down - this one works perfectly with stock turbos. To reinforce what I said above - the main benefit of the AMS intercooler is it's smooth flowing cast end tanks, which reduces pressure drop through the intercooler. When I had my car remapped, on the dyno it was producing over 420bhp at 12.5 psi boost - boost pressures 1.5 - 2 psi lower then expected. This will significantly reduce wear on turbos when running a tune. |
