Jb+ at 75% w/o bypass

My neighbor installed a jb+ in his 335i and I helped him. We took it for a ride after. Felt difference, after 2 days it was a whole different ball game.. Yesterday he called me and told me to stop by, he had a limp or half engine light come on, he said it came on after doing a few WOT runs. His hpfp and spark plugs have been changed recently, everything runs fine on it tho. No problems at all.
So the question is...
Do you guys think the bypass is needed for it to not bring up the warnings or is it something else?

Get the code scanned and we can go from there. The JB+ can throw a code above default but at 75% its relatively uncommon. Could be a misfire, could be something completely unrelated to the JB+. Hard to say.

Maybe it's a coil that needs replacing?

Edit: looked up the codes looks like boost leak somewhere

Your neighbor has a boost leak and popped a tuner code.

2D25 - Tuner Code - Just ignore as its due to the JB+ @ 75%

30FF - Boost leak most likely (Check Charge pipe and FMIC piping. Also check DVs to make sure they are seated)

Had the same codes. Did the solenoid bypass and cleared the codes. Fixed the problem. I even tracked my car afterwards with no more limp modes.

Do you like your jb that much? Would you do it again or something different?

Do the bypass, the car would run even smoother.

Isn't mine, It's a buddies car, I love Burger and Jb products! If your looking for something simple JB+ is the way to go for quick power. If it was for my car, id go jb4....
Driven COBB, PROcede and Jb4 n54 cars.
They were all pretty good the Cobb seemed slower,
The JB4 seemed really easy to work with and the price is always right..

Anyways to this day I haven't been in a faster non meth stock turbo 335 then when I had a helix in my e92, crazy power, but it never ran right.. Lol
