Are you currently involved in litigation for copying Helix's two-step design?

Genuinely curious! I figured they were safe from US Patent laws since they were in Europe, but now I see they opened up in California.

Either way, it's a good design and I'm sure their version works well and is easier to connect, right?

Our intercooler was designed to utilize the maximum space available. An offset core was the logical choice.

You must walk around with brass ones between your legs? Sorry to burst your bubble but helix is not the first company to bring a stepped design to intercoolers.

I just did a quick second search @ uspto.gov, as well as looked at helix's website and found no mention of Helix having a patent on the two step design.

Which leaves 3 possibilities: 1) they were too lazy to file a patent (not likely), 2) the time and expense weren't justified (possible, but crazy), 3) They didn't invent the two step design (most likely).

Bottom line: No need to be so unfriendly to a new vendor.

Welcome Wagner, we look forward to the competition you bring to your competitors!

I'm big on the stepped core design (hence the Helix), but I've seen some blacked out Wagners & they're looking goooood. Had I not gone with the Helix, prob would've pulled the trigger on this and just upgraded all the piping.

Just installed one I got from carsten. The major difference between the helix is the use of stock couplers. I like mine so far. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...9#post12178689

This is the one that clips right on in place of the factory one right? Seems to be more of a cosmetic mod if the pinch-point at the factory connection is not addressed. Does look cool all black though.

That pinch point may become an issue if I'm in the +400 whp club with the airflow/boost required to do that. But I have no interest in pushing my car that far.
