2008 E90 Sedan Advice
First post, hello!
I suppose this has been asked before (my search was unsuccessful), but when will the ordering guide for the 2008 E90 sedan be released? A salesman indicated that Arctic Metallic might disappear for 2008. Is there any knowledge of new colors? I'm hoping Space Gray will be introduced. What are the general opinions on the Terra interior? One one hand, I find it interesting, but on the other, it seems a bit busy (with the black airbag covers and seat backs). I know this is a matter of opinion, and I would like yours. Finally, I find the stock wheels on the 328xi to be unbearable. What are the chances the salesman will be willing to swap them for a more attractive set of wheels on a different E90? Or can I order different wheels from the factory? TIA. |

Terra = Owesome!! Maybe a biased opinion but i have never liked an interior color as must as terra.
I believe you can order a different set of wheels as long as you are willing to pay the cost, i doubt dealer will do it for free unless you negotiate really hard.

An E90 in Space Grey and Terra would look great.

Definitely get the Terra leather if you are getting the Premium package! You won't regret it, it matches with every exterior color. And for the wheels, anything can be done with $$! Just make sure you don't overpay Welcome to the forums!

Terra with dark exterior colors look great. Although, Terra and Alpine White look pretty good together too.

Artic is going away from what I have heard also. Terra is a very nice interior color. I like my black but it was not easy to not get terra.

I think Terra is either a love it or hate it thing. I think it looks best with aluminum trim but not with walnut - just too much of the same shades of brown for me. I prefer the saddle brown over the terra, too bad it's not available in an e90 (I went with black). Anything but grey, imo.

Terra and Black sapphire with alum trim looks very nice. I would not have ordered it that way but, since we picked one of the lot we didn't have too many choices. We absolutely love it now.

I doubt the dealer is willing to do a swap of the wheels for you.
You can always buy other wheels either OEM (BMW) or aftermarket once you take delivery. Just be careful if you order different wheels at the same time as your car...dealer will be happy to put the new set on for you, since you paid for them in advance. But many dealers will neglect to give you the stock set as well...they like to keep them. However, you have actually paid for those as well! They are quick to tell you that they do not refund you any portion for stock wheels if you "upgrade" to a better set, but at the same time...they seem to forget to put those in your car to take home with you when you take delivery! You might be able to sell the stock wheels to someone looking for spare set wheels, winter set of wheels, or even looking for replacement tires. Nevertheless...they are YOURS! Make sure you get them.

ya thats true. Most people/customers where I sell BMW's hate the color with a passion. They usually say thats not really a BMW color it looks like a rental car color and they fell the same way about sonora and plat bronze. They always say the Sonora and Plat Bronze is the same color as every rental Ford Taurus and Chevy Malibu.which is true to some degree. When people get our rental in Artic they say I guess its a loaner because you cant sell the color. I tell them actually thats not true. We sold some of that color and had 1 leftover. I dont agree about the Artic but I honestly hate Sonora and Plat Bronze but Plat Bronze is wayyyyyyyyyyy better than Sonora or barrique red IMO. You Artic 330i with the wheels looks 100 times better than most of the artics I have seen. I think the black interior has a lot to do with that also. The BBS wheels make the Artic color look really cool for some reason. Either that or its you great photography skills.

Re. Terra it looked stunning in all the new cars, but then i saw it in a driven demo (1200 miles on odo) and it looked a little drab and depressing especially with a dark outside color. It depends if you have seasonal affective disorder or not (j/k); if you don't mind dark interior then terra is good but if you do try something lighter. For both Terra and Lemon you get the black two-tone interior which i like very much. Only downside in the US is the headliner is grey and does not match either the Terra or Lemon colors. |

I couldn't agree more. I think it's by far the best color, and certainly turns heads. It should come standard with blacklines though... I don't like the way it looks with the standard red lights. |

Blacklines will never be standard on BMWs. They are meant for the euthusiast community. Probably 90% of the population who buys a E90 will not care about the blacklines or even prefer the current stock ones.
