Bridgestone RE960AS and some winter tires questions
hey guys, my 328xi coupe is now running on 19" M6 reps with Nankang NSIIs.
So previously my plan was to switch back to my stock 17" rims when the winter hits. But now after spending a summer with the M6 reps, i love tthe look so much that I cannot imagine the car getting back to smaller sized rims. so i did some search on 19" all season tires and found the RE960AS. I am just wondering if theres anyone of u who have experience with these tires and how do you like them. Will they be sufficient enough for the winter snow in boston? I am now running on 235/35/19 all around. I heard that the wider the tires are, the worse the traction is in the snow. is that true? thanks guys im new to cars... please help me out to determine if i should purchase a set of the RE960AS! |

You could always go with 18's for winter set up. They arent as small as the 17's, but not as large as the 19's, and there are more winter tires available in 18" sizing.
For winter you are correct in that a narrower tire is better for snow driving. 235's all around could work, 225's would be recommended, but you wouldn't want any larger than the 235.

The RE960 A/S is meant for light snow only. If you drive slowly and carefully they may get your home after a light snowfall, but are nowhere near as effective in winter as a dedicated winter tire.
