Valentine 1 Question
Hi fellow f30 owners. I have a question regarding the radar. I bought one in October of 2012 and have not programmed it yet. It is capturing all bands from stock.
Have any of you programmed it to remove K and X bands? Reason I am asking is that in the city, it is really annoying with the K and X bands constantly going off. Is it safe to just leave the L and Ka bands on and leave the other two off? Looking forward to hearing what others have done, given we are all in Cali.

Yes, it does, but LIDAR is so accurate that by the time the V1 says anything they have your speed already, unless you are lucky enough to have picked up bounced laser light off the vehicle in front of you.

I got lidar-ed a about 8 months ago, it was way too late, I saw my v1 light up, I looked ahead, I saw the cop, the cop pulled out and blocked the road before I even had time to react. game over

that sucks, but i just slam on brakes hoping the signal bounces off or messes up their reading.

Slamming the brakes don't work unfortunately. By the time the V1 goes off, they already have your speed. Noticed you are in the bay area. There isn't as much LIDAR in nor cal but its still around. It's mainly KA. The V1 will alert KA.

I live in LA and I dont have any of the bands disabled... Its annoying at first but in time you get used to it.. I always get a false L signal that goes off from the cars in front of me.. from either their tail lights or the sun reflecting off their car (i assume). Ive had mine since Jan 2010 and I have yet to be pulled over.... SO worth the $$.. I love it..

I disabled X on mine, never ran into an X that wasn't a false alarm
check out my DIY using the SAVVY module and custom bracket for the remote display http://www.f30post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=830506 If I ever got a Blinder HP laser jammer, I would disable L as well - the blinder would alert on L |

I've disabled X Band, but you can also adjust sensitivity of the Ka bands.
What I have noticed though, is that Infiniti SUVs tend to set off my L band (i.e. FX35/50 and the Q) |
