Massive speed on the street (autobahn run)

I realise it's our "big brother", and not a 3 series, but respect to the 1990's technology.

Last week I was in Munich and hit 260 (160 mph) in the M135i, and I thought that was good!

Great vid - have to love Germany.

To our US friends, ever wondered what it's like to drive this fast on the street?

185+ MPH on a normal road is an awesome experience.

....not that I know about that or anything.

That's why to me, if you don't track your car why buy an M3? That's like buying a 6 bedroom house & it's only you living there...

I agree. People would just go on it to just race and shit.

Well, people race on the autobahn - when I was in Munich a guy just killed someone in his 911 GT3, by hitting them at 300+km/hr at the end of the route which is a 100km/hr limit. He survived by the guy he hit didn't.

There are lots of people who try 200 mph+ at night, you have to watch out.

It's part of their culture, they accept it, although quite a few people are trying to get more limits on the roads, they will have huge resistance to see it through.

It's a rush, but you hit a point where you go from exhilaration to fear. In cars that aren't designed to go even close to that speed the hood starts to flutter (even with pins), you start to feel a lift on the whole car, you start to worry about what little bumps are coming up, etc. All of that combines and the feeling of wanting to go faster is overcome by the feeling of wanting to stay alive. My 1 mile or more race with a Z06 taught me that.

Sometimes on the autobahn it's really quiet on some roads at certain times, off season. Most people do runs at 2-3am, but that's scarey

There is no way your 335i should feel anything other than stable at top speed, that's what it is designed for.

If it does, you've done something bad with the suspension, or your bushes need replacing... I've driven 160 mph in an M135i, 150 in my car, and both feel rock solid with no feeling the bonnet is going to fall off, or I'm going to die soon. Suspension, tyres, tyre pressure, etc - all play a major role at that speed though. Your car has to be in tip top condition.
