g35 S is a fast car, comes in manual only, has 306hp, i dont understand why people are so surprised by the outcome, a stock 335i is faster but not by a lot, especially when the BMW driver is not very experienced at lunching his car

FWIW, here are a few clarifications:
That's a 2007 G35S sedan. You can get the sport package with either the automatic or the manual. The 2006 G35 sedan is definitely slower than the 2007, which was the start of the current generation. Also, I wouldn't quite say the G35S is quicker than the G37. Most magazines put them nearly identical. On the street, I've been faster than a G35S and average drag time on the G35/37 forums has the G37 slightly ahead with less experienced drivers. But for all intensive purposes, it's a drivers race between the two. |

the G37 is stated in magazines as not being any faster than the past generation, but not exactly slower. the extra 30 hp just makes up for the extra weight. also, the G35/G37 do the 0-60 in about 5.5-5.8 sec and 1/4 in about 13.8-14.0 sec, how can a 335i not beat it by a considerable margin. even my IS 350 can beat the G35 and G37.
