To my colorado people

Long story short. Got a cobb need to hold it to the obd to get power to it but will not connect to ecu. Tried scanners same thing. Was told the pin or wire for the ecu could be bent missing or damaged. Anyone have experience with this? Or knows how to check it? Bmw wants to run a full diagnostics for $120 I already know what the issue is (I hope)

If it's just a faulty OBD II plug them you can go through tisher and get a replacement online. If its a wiring issue to the ECU, I definitely would recommend against doing it yourself. That $120 fee for diagnostics has been the same for every service visit I've ever had that the issue couldn't be resolved without code reading. If they can't even get a read from the ECU with their code reader then chances are that $120 fee will be invalid for them to charge since they can't complete a diagnostics test through the OBD II port.

Was this at Murray or Schomp?

I'm hoping it's a loose wire something bent pin or something small I can handle. This was at both lol called then this morning and told them what was going in they said id have to take it in for a few hours for the diagnostic and then they would write me an estimate for the fix.

Are you sure you are using the right ECU f/w version? And are you doing this with the car in ACC-On position?

Is your battery in good shape?

Yea followed the instructions exactly how it says. Pressing the button without the brake and everything battery should be fine it doesn't even connect to my ecu to tell me what rom I have or what vehicle that's why I think it's just the obd
