We agreed to the following:
I went for option 1: I pay half of the $3800 plus HST on delivery (total of $2147 x 2 installments), dealer then keeps my summer tires and rims until I have the second installment paid. At that point, they switch my tires over (free of charge) and i can take the summers with me.
thoughts?

Well done. Sounds fair and I think you made the right decision to use a winter setup. Some dealers will even store your off-season wheels for free and swap them out twice a year for free. Not all offer that, but I've seen it advertised. You might want to inquire on that, if it appeals to you. Especially since they're doing exactly that for at least your first seasonal change.

Now go get your new truck!!

Thanks Chris,
The dealership keep the wheels free for the first year...I then need to find someone else to change over to...
We'll schedule delivery...but I just asked the dealer to send me a photo of the F15 with the current wheels on...
I'm updating shortly...on the other thread.

^^Good stuff, really nice that your dealer provided many options.
In the end you got a great deal on option 1.

I'm surprised that you spent $4,300 on rims you find "fugly" lol I'm sure you could have saved a bit of $ & buy aftermarket/replica rims but I guess due to timing you did not have much choice...

Regardless congrats on your new car, I know you waited a looooooong time

thanks...yes...not the best of choices...but I couldn't risk driving with this car with Peformance tire from the beginning...also another main concern was, I didn't want to let go of my 20's...because they are just so stunning....so I'll sacrifice the few months of winter driving....plus the fact that it will be wife and kids riding it, so safety is more important...

IMO yes. Given 4 options. You get your car now with proper tires ( oem wheels, RFT's). Last set, save $400 in peak season, instalment with storage and free change over ( my friend called a dealer and they wanted $200 if not more/yr). Enjoy, hopefully we get need I say one more storm so you can check out the snows.

Years, ago Southern On divers were able to use studs.

Now the rules are:
Ontario

• There are no requirements for snow tires.
• Studded tires may only be used North of Parry Sound and Nipissing districts and only from October 1 to April 30.
• Northern Ontario residents may use studded tires anywhere in the province during this time.
• Southern Ontario residents may only use studded tires in Northern Ontario. They could face a $1,000 fine if caught using them in Southern Ontario.

I knew at least one province required winter tires, just wasn't sure which. The weather is certainly cold enough there to justify them, even if just for that temperature performance.
