Okay - originally I had just posted the performance levels published by RC for the F15. That said, it appears that the new manual page applies to all cars so here is what is says across the board. According to RC, your stock setting should show up on your invoice (I never received an invoice from DTMHaus) as "Ultimate(D[S2/S1])" I know that the stock setting for the 35d is E0 from talking with RC and others on this board.
If your stock setting is B1, DF or CE, the following apply: Performance Level 1 - D1 Performance Level 2 - E2 If your stock setting is 9B or BC, the following apply: Performance Level 1 - CE Performance Level 2 - DF If your stock setting is FE or E0, the following apply: Performance Level 1 - E2 Performance Level 2 - F3 So there is no confusion, these are all settings for S2/S1. S2, according to RC, increases power by 1.5% each click mostly by increasing fuel. S1 changes how long the performance increase is applied to rpm-range. While there is a note in the RC guide that states that normally you will not need to adjust S1, as the chart above indicates, they do recommend increasing S1 as you increase S2 at a certain point, likely because the additional fuel allows for more efficient duration (this last sentence is my theory only). Have fun experimenting, however, based upon this chart and the feedback from others, especially 42Pilot, I am going with F3 for my 35d. For the record, 42Pilot is the person that really understands this better than anyone. I am merely reporting the data that appeared in the new RC manual as of two days ago that no one else has seemed to receive yet.

RobNYC sent me this picture from his manual:
This is different than the one sent with my diesel tuned chip. Mine lists Ultimate (DB1) and then states: "This example shows that the factory setting is B1. The D is not important to you." As Rob has pointed out, his manual suggests that the S1 setting does not matter. Accordingly, I cannot confirm whether all of the settings included in my previous post apply to all engines or diesel only. A new manual for a 35i or 50i tuned chip would clarify.

Trojanlaw, I've added a disclaimer to the petrol engine owners in my F15 tune thread regarding this information. Thanks.

I am at 03 on my 35d and have to say, it is the best combination I have found for off idle throttle response, roll-on acceleration (from 45 or 55 mph up), cruise economy, and general drivability. Push the SPORT button and it is quite impressive. No smoke, noises, smells, etc., after 200 miles or so.

Yes, but I wanted more fuel in case there was too much timing and not enough fuel. I think the power application is smoother because the timing and amount of fuel seem to be in balance a bit more. I like the 03 better than F3 - on my car.

in petrol engines only S2 has a function. So you can put S1 to every position you want without any effect. This switch does only have a function in diesel engines. You can extend the activity time of the RaceChip to a longer rpm area. The default setting of S1 is only an activity of 1500 until about 3500 rpm in diesel engines. This function isn’t necessary in petrol engines though since we already use the longest activity time through the software we develop.

I wonder how this chip works on petrol engine then. Just adding fuel theoretically increases air/fuel ratio and doesn't add power - just makes for an inefficient engine. I wonder if the ECU reads more fuel (higher AFR) then adjusts the turbo's vanes (the infamous TwinTurboPower VGT) to add more boost to keep AFR's in check. Then you would get more power - more fuel, higher boost - and it would work within the limits and parameters of the stock tune until the CEL lights up.

I've been running 3/3 and really like the off idle torque, passing acceleration and in-traffic drivability. Very nice and no CEL's. Yet.
