One cautionary tale. I took my car to a trusted shop to have this tune flashed and due to unknow issues, the DME was locked. Took 10+ hours to diagnose and get back to stock state. I suppose I might try this flash again in the future but that remains TBD.

The shop that did it sent the logs to xHP. I don't know if they ever responded. What the shop THOUGHT happened is that there was some sort of firmware mismatch. The flash process started but detected a mismatch or whatever and locked the DME. At this point, I think my shop consulted with BMW. Ultimately they flashed everything back to stock, then reapplied my ECU tune, and everything has been fine since. In terms of how long it took to correct everything... The car wouldn't start at about 11a on Friday. I left the shop around 3 or 4 but they continued to work on it until at least 6 I think. They worked on it more Saturday (I am not sure how much) and I got a text around 5p that it was running again. NM |

I feel the same way after installing bm3 feels like it shifts like shit in comfort mode im switching to DME custom tune an hoping it goes back to normal do you feel a lack of boost between 1k to 1,800 rpm when I’m driving threw town barley on gas the car feels sluggish and shifts are slow an sloppy especially right after upshifts feels like car falls on it’s face this is only an issue in comfort mode with shift setting at 1 bar when in sport or sport plus and at 2nd or 3rd shift setting feels fine I’m not sure if the lack of boost down low is causing the transmission to feel sluggish when shifting at low rpm’s I’m not an expert on cars, motors,or transmissions but its feels more like my old 2007 Acura TL type S when shifting at low rpm’s than the way it felt before flashing bm3 I guess XPH is always an option if DME tune doesn’t fix this issue

I have a Bootmod Stage 2 91 Oct OTS tune and I felt the same way with the shifts. Installed Xhp Trans tune and was not impressed. There was a minimal improvement but still too laggy. I'm not a tuner nor a mechanic. I decided to customize the settings today and took it for a short drive. What a difference now. Car is snappy at any RPM. We currently have an island wide lockdown in Jamaica with curfew being lifted Tuesday morning at 5 am. I will be able to test more extensively after that time. Attached are my personal settings. |

With this being out for a bit now, looking for feedback from those who have been running it for awhile to see if there have been any "long-term" issues or how DD driveability has been.

Anyone else have issues trying to put in their license code? I get a "Something went wrong" message which means nothing.
I can connect fine, pull codes, etc without problems… On Windows 10

Alright, I got it working... Had to uninstall the software, start my car quickly, buckle the driver seatbelt, then it stopped giving me that error. Little annoying, but got it to work.
Took about two and a half minutes for everything which is nice. No fault codes after, about to go for a test drive... Attaching a VERY useful features in XHP, quickcharge pressures and times. Very nice to see this to see the condition of the clutches in general and current adaptation values. Mine looks pretty darn good after 44k miles.

I will note that I went to an older version of software for XHP. they wrote me and said they were having licensing issues on the latest version and to run an old one for now.

In which order?
Question for everyone about process, if it matters: Would you flash the tune first then flash XHP? Or would you flash XHP first then flash the tune?
