But these dry carbon pieces are a very close second to BMW fitment and quality.

So are you saying I need a higher post count to be granted permission to post a pic of what I did to my car today?
Or that I need more posts to prove what? That'and my original question are open to anyone non-confrontational. |

I'm concerned about a few areas in need of correction before a a warranty required detail and respray are due. My guy was all YES when I asked if I should touch up any chips before he detailed, sprayed & baked. So now I'm wondering about your 2 step process also lol |

The paint does have damage like chips, deeper scratches in inconspicuous areas, and other general damage that no paint correction will fix and I would need a respray. But I can live with this imperfections since they are in hard to see areas. However, ill never respray. I would just wrap the car before I respray it. I doubt the previous owner ever applied any coating so ill say this was the first time the car got it. Since then washing and keeping it clean is a real breeze. Everything I got was from Adam's Polish. I got their Graphene Coating that is supposed to be their longest lasting. The pads, chemicals, machine and even some rags. I was eying a kit from Griotts Garage but Adam's gave me a discount so I went with that.

[QUOTE=christianfayb;28922864]I went to a cars and coffee...I used their most aggressive microfiber pad with their compound. They had a blue foam pad as well but it wasn't aggressive enough to undo the paint damage. After that I finished with their white polishing pad and their polish cream. I will say the clear coat on the BMW is hard as shit so it took a lot of patience. It accept that iw ill never be perfect but its 90% better than it was and looks brand new to me.

Your effort required sounds like your car was damaged by elements or a bad respray? What the f happened? Lol Personally I'm going to remove the nose/F bumper, rocker panels and R wheel flares and have them stipped and repainted proper over the winter. . Oh yea no more front plate for sure. Don Grey is a BITCH to touch up! |

Just age. Its never been sprayed so all original since 2016, damage is to be expected on a daly driver. Its not much which is why I can live with it. Paint correction takes a lot of time, effort, and patience. Which is why shops charge so much.

The rear fender flares tend to get road rash, as does the front of the bottom rocker panels. These are easy to remove for proper painting without even leaving your baby at the shop to get moved around, sat in, left outside, for potential further minor damages

I was lucky enough that my car had the ppf on the whole hood, rockers, bumper, fenders, mirrors etc. I'm wondering if I should take it off or leave it on. Still looks good, but it's been on since 2015 I think, for 30,000 miles…
