2014 '14 X5 Retractable Cargo / Trunk Cover

I am trying to install the retractable trunk / cargo cover.

Either the left side or the right side will lock into place. I cannot get both sides to lock, so when I pull the retractable cover one side is moving forward.

What am I doing wrong? Is there a trick to get the cargo cover installed or in the "lock" positions on both sides?

This is my first BWM and a new car for me. Trying to figure it all out.

TIA

I believe there are instructions in the owners manual. If you don't have the paperback version...there is an owners manual embedded in iDrive.

There's also a great search feature in the iDrive manual, as well...and there are multiple ways to search.

From memory, I believe you just slide the "cassette" back into the catches on both side and press it in on the right side and you should here it click into place. I usually give the left side a little bit more preference (first)...then end up pressing the right side until I hear the click.

EDIT: yep..here's the instructions from the owners manual

Hopefully you have the correct cargo cover cassette and you get the hang of how to latch it back in place..
