Water Pump/Thermostat Replacement Cost (Dealer vs Indy)
Does anyone know the estimated cost I would expect to pay for a water pump/Thermostat replacement at BMW dealer and indy? 2015 X5 xdrive35i.
Approaching 100K and am thinking of proactively replacing so that it doesn't leave my stranded. I think I paid around $1400 total at indy back in 2018 for the this job on my N54 335i. I see FCPeuro DIY kit is around $600. |

Nobody here would know as all shop rates are different, so either call a shop and ask or do it yourself with the video from FCP.

as mentioned its best to call and get an estimate from both. for many of the reputable shops here in the PNW, they charge just as much as the dealer now

Starting point is about $1k it was in Northern Chicago area but yea better call and compare. If you’re DYI it’s possible to change yourself but parts are about 450-500 and you need to dig inside as it’s not very much space.
