Better Value for X5 between these two

I am planning on buying a bmw X5 in the next day. I live in NYC, and only drive for pleasure on the weekends, and do roughly 5k miles annually. What is a better value if I only plan to keep my car for three years and then sell on craigslist or fb marketplace

Option 1 High Mileage X5 117K and $18K all in

Option 2 High Price X5 63K and $28.5K all in

Does it have to be one of these 2? Neither are spec'd all that well (with optional equipment).

Aside from that, hard to compare without knowing the maintenance history on both. These things are tanking in value so I'd be more inclined to pay less for the higher mileage one if this will be a short term ownership experience. But if it needs a ton of maintenance it won't be a good buy.

If you're serious about a particular X5, especially one with higher miles, it's highly recommended to get a PPI, especially if there's no maintenance records available.

The overall loss is prolly similar. Just with more upfront investment.

Don't listen to anyone. All cars are tanking after everything has peaked.

Buy whatever you see best for you. Cars are not investment and they will all tank in value.

As for the one of the two above, I would go with higher mileage one and do PPI on it.
