Will the F85 side trim grills fit on F15?

Anyone done this update? Of course, without the M logo but I'd prefer the M grill over the "blank" side grill of the F15.

Yes, thanks. Is it OEM F85 grill? Did you need to modify the grill? Or is that grill meant for F15 (no M logo), that would be nice and what I'd want.

there are several vendors that sell these reps for the f15. they're even on ebay and amazon... did you try there? if you want oem x5m then you need to shave down the tabs and use double sided tape

These are not original.

I got them from Ebay, and they are double sided taped on. Lo logo or anything on them just blank.

I suspect I may be in the minority on this one, as I do see quite a lot of them on F15s, but I personally prefer the naked factory look of the side vents, without any inserts. I just find it looks cleaner and more appealing to my eye.

I'm certainly not being critical of anyone's choices and of course beauty is in the eye of the beholder etc. I'm just genuinely curious to know what the consensus is on these on the forum?

Sorry OP, I appreciate my response doesn't help with your original question.

I agree, I actually bought vents and never used them.

I got these from Autoteknic (I believe) because they don’t have the X5M badge. The original have tabs that need to be filed down. These just stick with 3M tape (which is pre installed). Has held on for 3 years now….

Nice! Wow, guess what, this is exactly what I bought this morning from Ecstuning! After much research on fitment, these ones are like the OEM ones and hug the curvature of the car - the others are completely flat and will peel off. This one has an indentation for the emblem. And only today I saw an F15 with an X5 logo on this grill. Does anyone know where to find an emblem that would fit in that indentation?

I think it's where I'm coming from. I have an F86 and recently got an F15. While checking it out I actually thought the grille was taken out and asked the seller! To me it just looks like something is missing

You can measure the size of the X5 logo you need and then look for it on Alibaba. I doubt there is an OEM sized X5 logo that will fit. The side fender M badges you can get anywhere. I got mine on eBay and it came in a BMW package…
