I bought the F15 one from eBay a couple months ago and idk what a few people are complaining about. It fits perfectly. Used to have the e70 version and it never fit the windshield fully. It's just not tall enough.
The F15 fits very tight and once you get used to how to install it, there is zero issues. I simply turn the rear view mirror slightly to one side and it plops in. Maybe I'm Just used to having to do the same with my M5 with same designed sun shade.

I was contemplating getting the F15 version to have better fit, have had the E70 version for a long time which works OK..
But I realized that the E70 version with a bigger opening in the middle works great with my dashcam set up. I might still buy an F15 version one of these days to try out. But I would have to cut out the center on it, to work with my set up. |

I have a retractable one which attaches to the windshield with 3M tape. Will have to get you the brand name if interested (believe it ran about $60):

If you look at my thread, you can see where I cut and how it fits now. Used it all summer since the time I got it and it worked great. My biggest issue before cutting it was messing with the mirror every single time to get it around it, I don't like having to readjust the mirror every time I drive after putting in the sunshade. |

Part of my issue could have been caused by the fact I ordered the first one on Amazon, but it was supposedly the OEM version. This one does seem a tad smaller so I wonder if I got a counterfeit one from Amazon. No way to know for sure now! |

We continue to use our E70 one with good results after trying the F15 one and fighting with it for 5 minutes the first time we tried to use it. |

This is the one I use in my X5M. It does not fit perfect around the rear view mirror but it is acceptable to me. It fits well around the perimeter of the windsheid and will stay in place without the need to flip the visors down.

If you live in hot climate region, only thing which helps are sunshades put outside (on top of the glass).
The sunshades (in the car) are "nice to have -, but hardly help when it's very hot / sunny outside, as once the glass gets hot, it will be hot in the car. |

The best solution is ceramic tint all around + a sunshade. But if it's 100 degrees outside, it's going to be hot as hell in the car no matter what haha

Reduces another 5-10 deg with the oem sunshade which I run in both. For those asking for part numbers I'll try and dig one up. Honestly don't remember where I ordered it from. I think it was eBay but it's certainly not "difficult" to twist the rear view mirror to one said so you can slide the cut out up and then leave it there. When I get back in I just pull the shade down and twist the mirror back to where I want it. Doesn't bother me since it's my wife's daily so whenever I drive it I have to adjust the mirror anyway.

I'm happy to hear you found a sunshade that worked for your F15 and that you have a bit of experience with the same style. It's definitely not the easiest thing to install, but once you get the hang of it, it can be a breeze. I'm sure other people who are still struggling to find the right sunshade for their F15 will appreciate your advice. You may also want to install additional shades to protect the backseats, something like these at https://snapshades.com/car-sun-protection-for-infants/. Thanks for taking the time to share your experience!

bumping this oldie. Those that have the Autoheatshield, do you have the roll up or folding version? The roll up provides the most coverage, but I'm not really a fond of how much space it takes up (rolled up) when not in use.

I’ll chime in here that the OEM is still trouble free for us 8 years on.
