2015 BMW X5 carplay MMI

Hiya guys, anyone had experience with installation those MMI box for carplay ? the only concern is that when we use the google map , can we type the address using our phone ? or does it still have to be key it in using the Idrive wheel ? cheers

I have one in my '16. Android Auto lets you use your phone to input the address with Google Maps.
