Tires for 20 inch wheels

So I am looking for good all weather tires. I got these 20inch rims with a 8.5 width. What is a good aspect ratio?

Do you have OEM or aftermarket rims? Do you want staggered or square set up?

You can run 275/40/20 or 285/40/20 square but I would say you need wider rims.Going down to more narrow tire should also work but will look a bit goofy.

Garage List
Use a tire calc to determine the diameter / circumference to match your current setup.

Then use Tire Rack for tire reviews / testing to find the best tire in the tire class (summer/all-season, etc) you want.

The recommended aspect ratio for a 20" tire is listed in your owners manual. Look in the section that gives the tire inflation chart/info. That chart will list all the recommended tire sizes from 18" - 21".

BTW, you should also look at the wheel offset of those aftermarket wheels. The F15 20" staggered wheels usually have the specs below:
  • 10"X20" w/40mm offset (front)
  • 11"X20" w/37mm offset (rear)

If you mount an 8.5" x 20" wheel...it is already approx 2" narrower than the original f15 wheels...and if the offset specs are similar or greater than above...the wheels are going to look sunken in....or could be too close to the suspension bits.

You can use a calculator at a site like www.willtheyfit.com and compare the old vs new wheel/tire combo for each axle to see what the new combo fits vs the old wheel/tire combo. The lower the wheel offset...the more the wheel will be pushed out toward the fender.
