Vtg calibration, what it does?
Hi there,
I done a transfer case oil change recently after having vibration in issues, changing fluid didnt solve the vibrations so i installed ista and done a vtg calibration which took 2-3seconds and gave a message saying the readings where 0.4 in difference compared to old values, Vibration is still there, only happens at very low speed 10-15mph. My question is: does vtg calibration complete in a few seconds? Or ista made it look like it was calibrated but it actually wasnt? And also what does a vtg calibration do? Does it need to be done after changing tyres? Thanks |

It doesn’t take long at all once you initiate the calibration. Less than 5 seconds if I remember correctly.
Are you experiencing a vibration or a judder? From my limited experience a transfer case issue feels more like a binding judder, like driving a 4x4 on dry pavement and turning the steering wheel. Not like a vibration. But I’m guessing each one can be different. |

Can the gearbox be causing it? Also in low gear at low speeds when the gearbox is changed gear you feel a wobble shake in between the gear changes. |
