Searching for a used F85 - what's considered "high mileage"?
Just as the title says, as someone newer to the X5 game (I’ve has 2 e92s), what’s considered too high mileage to buy?
And to that same tune, does anyone know if extended warranties that would be a good idea? |

I think a lot depends on how it's been maintained and driven vs how many miles it's got.
Mine is a 2017 X6 M50i which I bought Feb 2022 with 19k on the clock. It's now coming up to 30k and I'm seriously considering spending £100pm for the extended BMW warranty. |

you're gonna get all opinions here and for me i'll never buy an f85 over 50k miles. to qualify for an extended warranty (fidelity), you'd have to be 2017-18 or newer with under 45k miles too. I dont know that for a fact, but thats been the case on other cars i've requested info for. i'm not aware of any 3rd party warranty companies that will cover a high mileage car.

Depends on how it's maintained, as mentioned.
Some guys here have over 50k mi and their F85 has been maintained well with records I'd certainly consider purchasing in this situation. But if you don't have maintenance records, I'd look for one with less than 50k mi. |
